Hey Gang -

I am so excited I just have to post! I am on Day 10 and I feel wonderful! I have even been following the liquid restrictions, which has always been really hard for me. "They" say it takes 3 weeks to make anything a habit, so I figure by then it will be second nature. I am just so happy to be feeling this in control.

I had an emotional moment the other day, which normally would have sent me to the kitchen, but I resisted. I was in the store last night and really hungry, but I walked out with only what I needed and just finished my coffee and water on the ride home, and waited for dinner - two parmesan tuna patties and some green beans.

Anybody who did the 5dpt on 1/12/09, let me know how you are doing!

cool0012.gif Good for you!!!

I am on day 4 of the 5DPT. I started the 18th. I feel so empowered. I was so consumed by the carbs I never thought I would pull myself out of it. This test has been the best for me. I do not feel hungry at all. I have cut down my caffeine to 1 cup of tea a day with splenda instead of real sugar. I have made the change to skim milk instead of whole milk. I find milk helps with cravings and mid-afternoon munchies. I have to say I am excited about dinner Orange glazed salmon!!!

I am finding the liquid restrictions getting better, and very helpful. I now notice I was eating almost all slider food witch made me never feel my pouch. I stay full longer.

I had the parm tuna patty last night for the first time. I loved them!

Good luck with day 10 and beyond!!

I'm right with you Donna I'm still doing fine and dandy! I've lost another lb, but am still in my 3lb window of "life".... it goes up, it goes down, that's life!

I'm exercising very well, and I've got Wayne doing it every day too! (He doesn't have an ounce of too much weight, doesn't even understand the concept!... lucky rat...) He's been wonderfully supportive and even helped make dinner suggestions/adjustments to keep the carbs lower. I don't generally "need" his help, but hey, if he wants to be a part of it... then all the better!

I'm still getting in all of my water, I'm taking all of my vits & supps. I've wanted to snack a little bit here and there, but just drink something instead or satisfy myself with a small handful of nuts and move on with my regularly scheduled program!

I'm not sleeping worth diddly though. Go figure.... do it all right and something just has to go haywire! I'm forcing myself to have a few extra long days in a row so that I basically hit the pillow and zonk.

Hi Donna, Good to here you are doing well. I'm right there with you too. I didn't lose any lbs on the 5dpt, but really regained and enormous amount of control back. I weighed myself this past monday and am down to 198. I started the 5dpt at 202.5. I know its not much but I'm under 200 WHOO HOO!!! Things in my life are absolutely crazy right now with sick family members, to many fires at work, and my BSN classes restarting but I know I can do this. I just need to remember to use the tools I have and stay in touch with this great support system. Hopefully I can say goodby to the 200 lb mark for good. Oh and Jane, I still need to get more exercise but i'm doing a little better. Thanks again for all your support.

Nice to hear from all of you! Thanks for the good wishes. I'm still doing good. I too am getting all the water in, all the vitamins, doing the liquid restrictions (so hard). Now I need to get on the exercise wagon. Starting Monday I am pledging to get back to Curves. I'll let you know how I do.

Deb - good job! The control is just the best thing, isn't it! Keep it up - you inspire me!

Lola - Yippee! Congrats on getting below the 200 lb mark - I did, too. Isn't it wonderful? Hey, 4.5 lbs is great - nothing to sneeze at. I'm sorry about your family members being sick. I hope everything works out in that regard.

Jane, you are too funny! I have trouble sleeping, too. But, it's because I have my grandkids nights, and the baby has been getting me up at 3:00 a.m.! Yikes - I'm getting too old for that stuff!

Here's to continued success to all - keep posting!

Hi Donna Marie - it is great to hear you are doing so well - I am too 11 days out now and sticking to Day 6 religiously. While I haven't experienced anymore weight loss since the 6 lbs I lost on the 5DPT, I am okay with that, I am in control and I am losing inches. I am exercising on my treadmill and getting in my liquids most days. I am at 203 and I want so bad to get back into Onderland!! love0028.gif

Hi Jackie! Thanks for checking in. You are doing wonderful! I am not weighing until tomorrow morning - I've resisted more than once a week weighing! I probably will see little change even though I've been sticking to Day 6, because I haven't incorporated exercise yet. Next week I'm going back to Curves, though. Keep up the good work, and keep me posted! Wish me luck!
