Yes, with all this heat we must remember to get in our liquids!

Life will give you storms, but they will pass. Instead of wimping out, just face them -- fearlessly. Trust that you will see rainbows that you never thought were possible. And know that you will reap the benefits that most other people don't have the patience or the courage to wait for. Simply laugh, and have an unwavering faith.
Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.

As for guzzle & gulp. I'm almost 7 years post-op and cannot do either. It's the nature of the pouch. It's only been this summer that I've been able to drink ice water, that's how hot it is here. (When it's not hot the ice water drops my body temperature too much).
Buffy, you get used to not gulping/guzzling. And when you forget the little pouch will remind you that slow steady sipping wins the race! OUCH!

I can take in about half a glass at one slurp most of the time. There are times when I do this and I feel tightness, so I just listen to my pouch and wait before I take the next drink. Sometimes, I'll hold a mouthful of water just because I can feel that it isn't going to go down easy. Isn't it amazing how we know our bodies so much better now that we've gone through this experience?

Yeah Kim---we each have little quirks that we've learned through the sheer course of time.
Buffy--once you have your surgery you will do the same---isn't it nice to know you are so far ahead of the game than others...

This happens to me all the time. I hate it when I'm holding water and read a funny post that makes me spew spit-water forth all over my equipment! :D

Now, these days, I drink constantly - I always have something with me, regardless. I also do take Urocit-K tablets (prescription) 3-times a day to help prevent the formation of future kidney stones....
Oh, and by the way, my Kidney Stones were PROTEIN stones, not calcium deposits! (I forgot the clinical name for this, but the doctor explained it to me)...
So, DRINK DRINK DRINK until you DROWN! LOL.....
