Day 1 check...

I was initially gonna start my 5dpt on Monday...but figured...what the heck, why wait. Especially with the long weekend, it will make it easier to prepare my meals. So I made it through the 1st day, and overall not doing to bad. I had my GBS in September of 08 and have lost 92lbs...but the last month or so, I have been finding that I am getting hungry more often and am eating things that I probably shouldn't and thus have stopped losing weight. When I read about the 5dpt, I had to try it. I have 10-15 more lbs to lose, and I am hoping doing this will be the kick in the right direction.

My Day 1 menu:
Breakfast - Mocha Smoothie (I am gonna digress here and tell the REALLY STUPID thing I did with this mocha smoothie...For some really bizarre reason, when I read the recipe for this, I though it was 1/2 cup of instant coffee mix...not just 1/2 cup of coffee...OMG it was HORRIBLE and very amusing at the same time)
Snack - Vanilla Chai Smoothie
Lunch - Split Pea Soup recipe
Snack - Hi-Protein Pudding
Dinner - Black Bean Soup
Snack - Hi-Protein Pudding

All the recipes from the 5dpt have been very good so far (minus my mix up on the mocha smoothie)...I can wait to get to Day 3 <sigh> but must make it through 1 more day of liquids first.

Thanks all,
Jennifer

Day 2 complete...For some reason, I had more of a headache today than yesterday but I made it through. I ended up eating one more time than I did yesterday. I am thinking it was because I did alot of walking around this evening at a park where we ended up spending a good portion of the day and watched fireworks.

Breakfast - Mocha Smoothie
Snack - High Protein Pudding
Lunch - Split Pea Soup
Snack - Vanilla Chai Smoothie
Snack - High Protein Pudding
Dinner - Black Bean Soup
Snack - Mocha Smoothie

I am SOOOOOO looking forward to food with consistency tomorrow morning...Turkey Egg and Cheese oven omelet thingey...woohoo.

Sounds like you are doing great. Congrats on day two. I know that whenever I get a headache, it usually means I have not had enough water (or I am wearing a really uncomfortable bra - but i know which ones those are laughing-smiley-011.gif ). I dont know if that's common, but it happens to me all the time. (the water thing, not the bra thing). Good luck with dat three, knew you could do it.

The headache is probably from carb withdrawal. If you eat a part of an orange that should help. Keep it up, your doing great, walking is excellent

I have to say...for anyone that isn't a real egg eater, the Turkey Bacon and Egg oven Omelet was EXCELLENT...and i hate eggs (except for hard boiled/deviled which i can tolerate).

my plan for day three was almost the same. I hadn't thought about the feta chicken salad though, I may have to add that one in. I have to conquer day 2 first. How did you like the Vanilla Chai Smoothie?

Glad to see you are doing well. Your more than half way there party0002.gif

Well...I had my first not so good day on the 5dpt...I made the Mediterranean Turkey burgers for breakfast and they DID NOT SIT WELL AT ALL...I was violently ill almost the whole morning and into mid afternoon...I finally choked down a smoothie at about 2pm and another around 5pm and ate my Herbed Scallops (they were really...really...good). I think it was the grease in the burgers that set me off (I used only a little olive oil, but i think the burgers just sucked it up). I have a very tolerant pouch, except when it comes to greasy food.

So my menu for today:

Breakfast - 1/4 Mediterranean Turkey Burger (ugh)
Lunch - Mocha Smoothie
Snack - Vanilla Chai Smoothie
Dinner - Herbed Scallops
Snack - High Protein Pudding

Tomorrow, I am going to wing it a little more than I usually do...I am going to stop to Taco Cabana and have a Chorizo and Egg taco (minus the taco shell of course) and some type of poultry for lunch...then I will have the Buffalo Chicken Strip recipe for dinner. I AM ALMOST DONE.
