OK, I admit that I'm not a once a day kinda gal, but since I began the 5DPT I have
been really constipated. Any suggestions? What's the healthy way to tackle this
one?
Thanks!

Hi Mickeefynn - You are not the first to ask this. sick0022.gif Here are a couple of ideas:

-- 1/2 apple w/skin for your mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack
-- Increase your fluid intake
-- Include a water soluable fiber supplement in your daily diet
-- Add a fish oil capsule to your diet
-- Prepare one of the Feed the Carb Monster Soups for days 1 & 2 (each 1-cup serving contains 5 grams dietary fiber) and use this soup for a snack on days 3, 4 & 5.

Hope this helps --- keep us posted.

I know that this has been a long-time problem for me, at least over the past couple of years. You certainly want to avoid any type of stimulant laxatives (like Ex-Lax for example) because those are quite harsh and cause horrible cramping...

If the fiber isn't working for you (natural from veggies, etc., and also added-in like Metamucil), then I often opt for something very gentle which my doctor actually recommended, which is Milk of Magnesia. It comes in a pleasant cherry flavor, it is stimulant free and very gentle, and it really does help. Otherwise, I am a veritable cement machine! LOL... and its the worst....

I hope you feel better! :)
