cool0012.gif I got my surgery date cool0012.gif
It has been a long while since I have visited the board. My original name was s. fletcher, but when the board was overhauled awhile ago I had to change my login name cause I had trouble logging in, thus I am now Stacey 71.... Anyway I have been trying since March 2007 to have WLS and have decided on lapband surgery. After the painstaking process of choosing a surgery and then jumping through ins. hoops, I finally made it! I was beginning to think this day would never come. I will be undergoing lapband surgery with Dr. Patricia Choban at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Columbus, Ohio on Sept. 10th!!!! WHOOHOO!

What a great day Sept 10th will be, Stacey!!! Another newbie in Ohio ... they must have some great surgeons in your neck of the woods, cuz there's so many neighbors from the buckeye state. (BTW, what's a buckeye???)

Congrats Stacey, that day is fast approaching, and will be here before you know it. Before I read your post I thought you had already had surg since it says your arrival date is March 2008. Anyway, welcome, and do as much reading as you can before surg. There is a lot of good info out there. action-smiley-066.gif

Congrats stacy! Isn't it exciting when you finally get the date! You'll be so pleased when that weight starts dropping off! Hugs!

Deb, I was born and raised in Ohio. A buckeye is a big dk brown Nut type thing, that grows from a tree, a buckeye tree. Its beautiful really, the color of mohogany. BUT before you can see the "nut" part, it is incased in a pale green "shell" that has very prickely little spikes all over it. When they fall from the tree and dry the "shell" dries and opens, revealing the "nuts inside" (usually 2 per shell) If I remember correctly, the nut is like 1" by 1.5". I haven't seen a buckeye or buckeye tree since I was a kid.

Congratulations! cool0012.gif I'm glad you made it back into the neighborhood.
Hey we even have buckeye's in Minnesota. I love the prickly green shell and then the beautiful nut!
We blew one up in the microwave once for some reason I don't remember. cool-smiley-013.gif

Thanks so much for the wonderful reception.. I am sure I will have tons of questions after surgery. I am not sure why my arrival date is listed as March 2008, I think that is when the neighborhood got a facelift and I had trouble loggnig on, as I previously logged in as s. fletcher.. Anyway, I have been researching weight loss surgery for 2 years and the last year of it I have been obtaining ins. approval so it has been a long, hard road! I am very excited and nervous at the same time! I will keep you posted on my progress....
