There are many ways to fund a website: advertising, merchandise, sponsorship, donations and fees. LivingAfterWLS Ltd. Liability Co. charges a minimal fee, merely pennies a day, for subscribers to enjoy the benefits and features of the Neighborhood community forum and satellite utilities. The following are specific reasons for the fee:
Privacy: The small gate-keeping fee keeps the Neighborhood a safe haven from spammers and flamers. Above all else we respect the privacy and integrity of our members. A fee discourages those who would do harm from joining our community. The minimal fee allows neighbors to invest in this community giving them pride and equity in ownership.
Ad-Free Zone: While we could make much more money with an advertisement heavy Neighborhood we believe the content on the forums is far more valuable than the advertising revenue. We want Neighbors to focus on the content, support and belonging rather than being frustrated with flash video and pop-up annoyances. The LivingAfterWLS Neighborhood is an Ad-free zone.
Community Development: The small revenue generated from the fee is returned to the Neighborhood in the form of new features that empower Neighbors to thrive and succeed with WLS and with life.
Commitment: It is easy to sign-up for a free service and then forget about it. Yet when we pay a fee, even a minimal fee such as this, it validates our personal commitment to use a resource fully, get our monies worth and make the most of our purchase.

What is a Foundation Member?
Foundation Members are Neighbors who have been with this site since the beginning. LivingAfterWLS realizes that a Neighborhood cannot exist without a solid foundation. Those who were here from the start truly made this a Neighborhood and they have been honored with this title.
